28 years have already passed since the time when people learned about AIDS – one of the biggest problems of humanity. We already know a lot about this virus, but scientists still receive more and more information about it. Today HIV has a pandemic character. More than 40 million people live with AIDS/HIV today, and more than 20 million have died.
As today we have the World AIDS Day, let me publish the things people must do, in order to avoid this evil.
- Do not use the same syringes with other people. The best way is to use sterile disposable syringes.
- Exclude sex with people if you are not sure if they are infected.
- Note that the probability of infection depends on the number of sexual partners.
- If you are sexually active, you should follow the concept of “safe sex“, i.e. the use of condoms in all sexual contacts.
We must remember that HIV is not transmitted when:
- you share clothes with someone who is infected with HIV;
- shaking hands;
- using a common toilet;
- contacting in vehicles;
- sneezing and coughing;
- embracing;
- touching money, bedclothes or underwear;
- using a towel, soap, washcloth;
- we are bitten by mosquitoes or other insects;
- swimming in the pool;
- kissing;
So, take care, have a safe sex and live a long life!
