When making your own career it is important to know what to do and what you can overdo. So, here is the list of useful tips that are recommended for a career growth.

1. Build relationships with your employer.

Do. To receive a promotion you must be at least recognized. Also try to build good relationships with your co-workers. The experience shows that a promotion is impossible without a good recommendation of other co-workers.

Overdo. Too big desire to establish contact with the employer will provoke a collective contemptuous laughter at you.

2. Take the initiative.

Do. Stay in touch with new business trends in your company. It is important not only to know what is happening outside your room, but also highlight a number of interesting projects. Try to participate in these projects. Prepare proposals on the topic and discuss them with your boss. Explain him why you are interested in this or that work, and how valuable you can be.

Overdo. Don’t try to get unnecessary knowledge and certificates. It won’t help you and you will make your boss think that you can’t manage your time.

5. Learn to work in team.

Do. Big project are realized in a team. And if you succeed, you should share this success with your co-workers.

Overdo. You shouldn’t downplay your achievements as it may lead to your failure.

6. Step out of the shadow.

It is good to be a public person, especially if it has a positive impact on your career growth. Try to be noticeable – publish your articles in specialized media, consult. Participate in presentations – despite everything else, it will help you to build the necessary business relationships.
